After 3 successive back to back years; Goal Star Soccers hold on the coveted PFTM Trophy and all the trimmings that comes with winning has been broken by a fantastic Ibelieve team. Ollie Modeste assembled a great squad with high quality technical players, a goal keeper who won Player of the tournament and squad that worked for one another at every single moment!!
Qualifying top of their group not losing a single game out of their 7 group games they stormed into the QF stages. Beating All nations in the QF and a strong Crown and Manor in the semi Final via penalties saw a heavy weight clash between twice beaten finalist Barawa FA.
As expected it was a tight and high level affair with Mr. Mcgee the GK claiming his spot as Player of the Tournament, with a world class save and also a huge part to play in saving a big penalty in the penalty shootout, the first time in PFTM history a GK has won such an award.
Huge congratulations to Oliver Modeste, the Ibelieve team his supporters and also management team of a few stars of the future. Ollie donated the winning £1000 prize money to Concussion and the life changing effects it can have on lives both inside and outside of sport.
As always the questions remains... Will they retain the title in 2020?
So the unthinkable happened...Real Madrid won the treble in the Champions league... Successively retaining the UEFA Champions League three times... Goal Star obviously have the talents of Real Madrid and lay claim to successfully retaining the coveted PFTM trophy for a third time. WHAT A DAY!!!
Goal Star Soccer donate their £1000 prize to late footballer Ugo Ehiogu's charity Onside led by his wife Gemma.

Goal Star Soccer have done the double. Last years champions managed to once again lift the much sought after Play For The Memory Trophy with all the top prize. Captain Kevin Stewart mentioned how great it was to lift the trophy once again and paid tribute to the fantastic causes and team spirit which was on display. Goal star also had on show the Player of the tournament a real promising bright young player Rhian Brewster to look out for in the future. Next year already brings more competition and even more prizes for teams to win and raise awareness about causes and personal memories.
2016 Play For The Memory Tournament
It’s the second Year of PFTM and A NEW SET of Champions have emerged victorious; Goal Star Soccer!! GSS showed us that after a shaky start they had the quality to win the high level Mens 7 aside tournament.
Led by Captain Theo Jones,
Goal star soccer provided us with some fantastic moments, however, they certainly did it the hard way. Goal Star Soccer finished 4th in their group to take the final qualifying spot, they beat last years Champions Power Circle 7 in a Penalty shootout in the Quarter Finals, they went onto to beat last years semi finalists (Crown&Manor) in this Year’s Semi Finals and then took down the power of AFC Wembley who had not lost one game all Tournament… What a day, What a Tournament!!!
Moments like these really show you what Play for The Memory Tournaments are about. Captain Theo and his team won for a fantastic cause and donated £1000 of the Prize Money to Cerebral Palsy in memory of Young Giovanni who unfortunately lost his battle with the illness but was and will always be remembered. Giovanni was a boy who loved football and sport, through this donation it will allow young people affected by Cerebral Palsy to take part in sports that so many of us take for granted said Theo.
The day proved to be fantastic as always played in great competitive spirit!!!

WINNERS - Power Circle 7 donated £1200 to three different charities and causes
JVJM - Auctioned Wayne Rooneys boots and donated the proceeds to St. Mary's church
Runners Up - Vision FC walked away with a signed Manchester United shirt and Michael Carricks boots. They used the money gained from raffles/auctions to set up a fitness gym in memory of their very close friend Big Joe.

On Saturday 27th June 2015 12 teams embarked on a journey that will not be erased from the memory any time soon. Teams placed in two groups saw each team battle it out in fantastic weather to qualify for the top 4 spots in respective groups.
Vision FC the finalists topped their group with Five Bills topping the other group could this be the final people felt after watching these two teams turn in storming performances throughout the day...
Teams were by no mean coming to provide easy opposition with some big hitters in both group A and B playing for enjoyment, pride, fun which in turn will provide more memories for the real causes and memories that they play for which without doubt are close to their hearts.

Crown & Manor (Youth Club), Kiyan Prince Foundation (Anti gang/knife Crime), Focus Football (Parkinsons UK), Silk FC (Sickle Cell), Vision FC (Memory of Joe Kacz), Nedime (Cancer UK), Five Bills (Youth in Sport), Memory of Mohammad (In memory of Mohammad), Power Circle 7s (Special Olympics), TDC&Sitel (Kingston Hospice), JVJM (Memory of Jack Merrick) and IBELIEVE (Child Brain Damage).
A great emotional filled day which was played in remarkable spirit saw each team embrace the true meaning of Play For The Memory with Team Kiyan Prince even fielding a superstar of the future at 9 years old. The day was not only special for boys aged 9 but also for people age 49 as a string of young professionals turned up to support causes and cheer on friends with a few cameo appearances from; Jon Obika, Kevin Stewart, Daniel Powell, Jacques Maghoma, Sam Cox, Olumide Durojaiye, Ryan Fredericks the list goes on... We were truly blown away by the support these guys provided on a charitable day and they were more then happy to sign autographs and pose for pictures.
The Quarter Finals and Semi Finals really heated up with electrying games between Crown & Manor and Silk FC with Crown and Manor winning 2-1 in the last few minutes and a semi final stormer between Power Circle 7s (PC7) and Five Bills with a 3-1 win for Power Circle.
As all the spectators prepared for the final a raffle for the countries current number 9s football boots (Wayne Rooney) were raffled and won by a Mr Kevin Merrick (manager of JVJM). Kevin who will auction the boots off to the highest bidder and kindly donate proceeds to a local church very close to Kevin and the families heart was extremely pleased with the win.
The final was a very toughly contested one with Vision FC playing in memory of close friend Adam Wallaces Joe Kacz and captain Anton Blackwood of PC7 playing to help family members abroad and also to donate to the special Olympics in Australia. The final would go down to a penalty shootout and then into sudden death with Jonathon Miles the PC7 keeper saving a vision spot kit leaving Joseph(PC7) to slot home and take the £1000 prize on offer. Adam Wallace and Vision walked away with the second prize of a signed Manchester United Shirt.
A really inspirational day for all involved, we would like to extend our thanks to all the teams that entered and played in great spirits, the referees who were tremendous; Alex, Jessica, Brandon and Noel, volunteers on the day far too many to mention but thank you and to all the supporters for really creating a raucous atmosphere that even passing spectators wanted to be a part of and to the quiet sponsors of Henri Lansbury Soccer school and One Glove co.
A big thank you must go out to a man who has won almost everything the professional football game has to offer Manchester Uniteds Andy Cole who provided us with stunning gifts to hand out such as; Wayne Rooneys signed boots, Michael Carricks signed boots and a signed Manchester United Shirt.
We look forward to seeing more teams soon and we are now preparing for Netball Play for the Memory so watch this space....
